The Founders of Farm Food Fork

The West Kootenay Permaculture Co-op, is a not for profit cooperative working diligently on food security initiatives for this region. Though we are Slocan Valley based in our board we are developing opportunities and programs to increase food production / accessibility and sustainability in the greater Kootenay and Boundary areas.

We see all of these efforts as  initial steps in building the food secure future we are all working towards. Collaborative efforts, with open and honest communication throughout Kootenay Boundary communities and their food and farming groups, along side a return to traditional skills, while embracing applicable technology will be key to the success of our resilient food future.

Our coop has a number of successful projects under our belt including: Farm Food Fork 2014+ 2015+ the F3 Bursary, the Slocan Valley Food Hub, & KootenayFood.com. In early days as the Valley Permaculture Guild, (which is all grown up now into this great coop now) we developed the Homesteading 101 workshop series, Pickle Palooza, and the Slocan Solutions Symposium.

Currently we are developing a Kootenay Food Center in the heart of the Slocan Valley! So stay tuned for more about this epic undertaking!
